Survive DREDGIVIBE's Darker, Spookier Nights
DREDGIVIBE deliberately changes nighttime brightness and dark spots to give the world a cursed, spooky look. It looks great, but mobs can be harder to spot. Here is how to keep the mood without dying.
Light your space properly
- Over-light your base. Place torches, lanterns or other light sources more often than you normally would. Areas that looked fine in vanilla may now seem pitch black.
- Check light levels, not looks. Press F3 and read the block light value where you stand. Mobs spawn based on real light level, not on how dark the shader makes things appear.
- Mark your paths. Line paths to your mine, farm and nether portal with lights so you can find your way home after dark.
Make the dark easier to handle
1. Raise Brightness. Go to Options → Video Settings and raise Brightness. The shader stays atmospheric, but shapes in shadow become easier to read.
2. Brew Night Vision. Night Vision potions remove the darkness problem completely for caving trips.
3. Carry a light. Keep a torch in your off-hand when exploring caves.
4. Use sound. Turn up Hostile Creatures under Music & Sounds so you hear mobs before you see them.
5. Sleep through it. If you only want the spooky look as scenery, sleep in a bed early on and enjoy night from safely inside your base.
The pack preserves gameplay clarity in normal lighting. Most of the danger is only at night and underground.
