How do I get cooked meat from villagers?
Kill a villager and it drops Cooked Villager meat directly, no furnace needed. You can also cook Raw drops from other mobs in a furnace, smoker, or campfire if you prefer.
Do iron golems drop food?
Yes, iron golems drop Cooked Iron Golem meat, and they also drop Frozen Golem Nugget and Cooked Golem Nugget items. Farming them is one of the most reliable meat sources since they respawn in villages.
Why isn't my mob dropping meat?
The mod's config controls which mobs drop meat, so check that the mob is enabled there. Also make sure you're killing the mob yourself rather than letting it die to fire, fall damage, or another mob, since some drops only trigger on player kills.
Is cooked meat from this mod safe to eat?
Yes, cooked drops like Cooked Villager, Cooked Wolf, and Cooked Axolotl are edible food items. Raw drops such as Raw Cat or Raw Bat should be cooked first before eating.
How do I cook raw meat drops?
Put Raw drops into a furnace, smoker, or campfire just like normal meat. Smokers cook them faster, which is handy when processing a big stack of Raw Fox or Raw Camel.
Can I turn off meat drops for specific mobs?
Yes, the config lets you toggle which mobs drop meat. Open the config file or in-game config screen and disable the mobs you don't want to drop food.
What is Piglin Porkchop and how do I get it?
Piglin Porkchop is the raw drop from piglins, and Cooked Piglin Porkchop is its cooked form. Kill piglins in the Nether and cook the raw drop to get the edible version.
What is Monster Meat used for?
Cooked Monster Meat is a food item dropped by hostile mobs. It works as an emergency food source when you're low on regular meat.
Does this mod work with other mob mods?
It depends on whether the other mod's mobs are registered in Drop The Meat's config. Mobs added by other mods generally won't drop meat unless they're added to the drop list.
Will this mod hurt my performance?
No, it's a lightweight mod that only adds drop tables and food items, so it shouldn't affect TPS or FPS noticeably. Performance issues are more likely from having many mobs loaded at once than from this mod itself.
