Do I need to do anything to start using this mod?
No setup required—the mod works automatically once installed. Villager variants and hurt reactions begin spawning and occurring in any world, and you can adjust spawn rates and sound volume through the config files if desired.
How do I stop villagers from screaming when they get hurt?
You can lower the custom villager sound volume in the client config settings, or use Duct Tape on a Dumb Villager to silence that specific variant. Regular villagers will still react to damage, but you can tune how loud it is.
What's the best way to clean up after a Dumb Villager makes a mess?
Use a Water Bucket on the mess to wash it away immediately. The mess appears about five seconds after feeding the Dumb Villager, so plan ahead if you're keeping one nearby.
Can I use Fat Villagers to grind mobs?
Yes—Fat Villagers deal damage to mobs when rolling into them, and they create shockwave craters when falling that crush mobs underneath. You can push them or sprint to increase their rolling impact for more efficient mob grinding.
How do I get a Fat Villager to roll?
Push a Fat Villager with your hand or another force, and it will roll across the ground. Sprinting while pushing it increases the impact power and damage dealt to mobs in its path.
Why is my Senior Villager sleeping on the ground instead of in a bed?
Senior Villagers fall asleep anywhere, even on bare ground without a bed—this is their defining behavior. They'll sleep wherever they happen to be when tired, so don't be alarmed if you find one napping in random locations.
Can I remove the Ugly Villager's soiled bed problem?
No, the Ugly Villager soils its bed after waking up as part of its core behavior. You'll need to clean or replace the bed regularly if you want to keep the area tidy.
How do I change the spawn rates of villager variants?
Edit the server config file to customize the spawn chance for each unique villager type. By default, each variant spawns with a five percent chance, but you can adjust these values to your preference.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod adds custom sounds and behaviors to villagers, so performance impact depends on how many villagers are active in your world. If you experience lag, try lowering sound volume in the client config or reducing variant spawn rates in the server config.
Can I remove Duct Tape from a Dumb Villager without Shears?
No, you must use Shears to safely cut off Duct Tape from a Dumb Villager. Shears are the only tool designed to remove the tape without harming the villager.
