How do I add my own tips to the loading screen?
Create a resource pack and add a file at assets/modid/loading_tips/tips.json containing a tips array of translation keys. The mod reads every mod's tips.json, so your entries get merged into the loading screen rotation.
What is the format of the tips.json file?
It's a JSON object with a "replace" boolean and a "tips" array of strings, where each string is a translation key like "text.loadingtips.tip.milk". Set "replace" to true only if you want your file to override the default tips instead of adding to them.
Why do my tips show up as raw text like text.loadingtips.tip.milk?
That means the translation key has no matching entry in a lang file. Add the key and its display text to a lang file such as assets/modid/lang/en_us.json so the game can resolve it.
Can I just put plain text in the tips array instead of a translation key?
The mod expects translation keys, so plain sentences won't resolve and will display as-is or break. Define a key in your lang file and reference that key in tips.json instead.
