Do I need to do anything to start using this mod?
No setup required—the mod works automatically. When you die, a grave appears at your death location instead of dropping items on the ground. Just return to that spot and interact with the grave block to retrieve your items.
What happens if I die multiple times in the same area?
If you die near an existing grave, the mod merges the new items into the old grave instead of creating a separate one. This keeps your world clean and makes it easier to find all your loot in one place.
Can I lose items when I die with this mod?
Yes, if you want extra challenge. The ItemLostPercentage config option lets you set a percentage of items to lose on death—by default it's set to keep everything, but you can change it to any value between 0 and 100.
How long do graves stay in my world?
Graves automatically disappear after a set time period, which is configured in MaxGraveLifespan (default is 72000 ticks, roughly one hour). You can change this value or disable it entirely in the config.
Do mobs create graves when they die?
Only specific mobs listed in the EntitiesGraves config create graves—by default this includes villagers and wandering traders, but not regular hostile mobs. You can add or remove mobs from this list.
Can I manually remove a grave without getting the items?
Yes, use the command `/gravestone destroy <pos>` to delete a grave and discard its contents, or `/gravestone clear` to remove all graves in your current dimension.
What if I want to retrieve someone else's grave items?
Use `/gravestone claim <player> <pos>` to move all items from a specific grave directly into a player's inventory.
Does this mod work with other inventory mods?
Yes, the mod catches items right as they drop, so it works perfectly alongside other special inventory addons and storage mods.
Can I prevent empty graves from appearing?
Yes, set EmptyGraves to false in the config file to stop graves from spawning when there are no items to store.
