Overview

The Aether is a large exploration and adventure mod that adds a brand-new Heaven dimension - the mirror opposite of the Nether. Instead of digging down into a fiery underworld, you travel up into a bright paradise made of enormous floating islands drifting high above the clouds.

The dimension has its own blocks, plants, ores, weather, mobs, bosses, gear, and dungeons, turning the sky into a whole second world to conquer once you have found your footing on the surface. The surface of the islands is peaceful - hostile night monsters do not spawn there - so the real danger comes from the dimension's own creatures, its deadly dungeons, and the long drop into the void below.
