Blocks & Terrain

The Aether's floating islands are built from their own set of blocks, and learning them helps you navigate and build in the sky.

Holystone - the Aether's basic stone, the equivalent of Overworld stone. It is what most of the island interiors are made of.
Aether Grass and Aether Dirt - the green surface layer of the islands.
Skyroot - the Aether's wood type, used for logs, planks, tools, and crafting stations.
Aercloud - soft cloud blocks. Blue Aercloud breaks your fall so you land safely, and other Aercloud types have their own effects, making them useful safety nets around the island edges.
Quicksoil - a slick, glassy block that makes you slide across it at high speed.
Ores - Ambrosium (a common glowing resource used for torches and crafting), Zanite (a mid-tier gem used for tools and enchanting), and Gravitite (a rare, powerful ore that can even float).

You will also find treasure chests, gold chests, ambrosium torches, and hidden loot scattered across the islands and inside structures.

The Aether is home to many creatures found nowhere else. Some are friendly, some are dangerous, and a few can be tamed or ridden.

Moa - a large, flightless bird and the signature mount of the Aether. See the Raising a Moa section below for how to hatch and ride one.
Aerbunny - a small, friendly bouncing creature that can be picked up and helps break your fall.
Zephyr - a floating white creature that shoots gusts of wind to knock you around, often near island edges where the push is most dangerous.
Cockatrice - a hostile bird-like mob that spits poison at you from range.
Aerwhale - a huge, slow creature that drifts peacefully through the sky between islands.
Sheepuff - a fluffy sheep-like animal that provides wool.
Swet - a gel-like slime creature that can pull you in.
Sentry - a stone guardian that defends dungeons and structures.
Valkyries, the Slider, and the Sun Spirit - powerful enemies and bosses found in the dungeons.

Several new stations let you progress through the Aether:

Incubator - hatches Moa eggs when fueled with Ambrosium.
Altar - repairs and enchants Aether gear using Ambrosium shards and Zanite.
Freezer - turns water and filled buckets into ice and other frozen items, working like a reverse furnace.
Aether crafting stations - additional blocks used for the dimension's own recipes and processing.
