Frequently asked questions

How do I craft my first pocket machine?
Pocket machines require basic materials like wood, stone, and iron depending on which machine you're making. Check the crafting recipe for your desired machine (like a pocket furnace or crafting table) in your crafting menu or JEI/NEI—each machine has its own specific recipe.
Do pocket machines work the same as regular ones?
Yes, pocket machines function identically to their full-sized counterparts—a pocket furnace smelts items at the same speed, a pocket crafting table uses the same recipes, and so on. The only difference is they're portable and take up inventory space instead of block space.
Can I use a pocket machine while it's in my inventory?
You need to hold the pocket machine in your hand and right-click to open its interface; you don't need to place it down. This lets you smelt, craft, or enchant on the go without building a temporary structure.
Do pocket machines need fuel or power?
Pocket furnaces work just like regular furnaces and require fuel (coal, wood, etc.) to smelt items. Other pocket machines like crafting tables and enchanting tables don't require fuel or power.
