Frequently asked questions
How do I start a Draftout match?
Open your main menu, connect to the Draftout Mod server, then choose between Quick Play, Competitive mode, or create a Private lobby with friends. You'll enter the drafting phase where you and your opponent take turns picking goals to build your bingo board.
What's the difference between quick play and competitive mode?
Quick Play uses a smaller four-by-four grid with easier goals and a shorter time limit, making it ideal for casual games. Competitive mode features a larger five-by-five grid, tougher challenges, a longer time limit, and ranks you on a leaderboard based on your score.
Can I play Draftout with friends?
Yes, you can create a Private lobby and invite up to three friends to play with any board setup you want. Private lobbies let you customize the experience without affecting your ranked stats.
How do I see what my opponent is doing?
The mod displays your opponent's chat messages, advancements, and dimension changes in real time while you both play in separate singleplayer worlds. This lets you track their progress without leaving your own game.
Do both players get the same world or different worlds?
Each player loads into their own singleplayer world, but the mod generates them with tweaked random elements and guarantees important structures so both players have a fair and balanced start.
How many goals do I need to complete to win?
You need to complete thirteen tasks before your opponent to win the match. The exact number depends on your board size—Quick Play uses a four-by-four grid while Competitive uses five-by-five.
What happens if time runs out before anyone wins?
Whoever has completed the most goals when time expires wins the match. Your final score is recorded, and in Competitive mode this affects your leaderboard ranking.
Can I update the mod without restarting the game?
The mod includes a built-in update tool that downloads new patches directly from the server menu, so you can stay current without manually updating.
What if I disconnect during a match?
Reconnecting to the Draftout Mod server will return you to your active match, and your opponent's progress will still be visible so you can catch up on what you missed.
Does Draftout work in multiplayer servers or only singleplayer?
Draftout is designed for singleplayer worlds connected to the Draftout Mod server—you and your opponent each play alone but can see each other's progress in real time through the mod's tracking system.
