How do I get an Etheric Gem?
Craft it using the mod's recipe, which you can view in JEI or the recipe book once you have the required materials. If you're stuck, check the Processes section of this wiki for the crafting steps.
How do I revive my dead pet?
Right-click the spot where your pet died, or use the Etheric Gem on your pet's remains if they're still present, depending on how the death was handled. The gem is consumed and your pet returns to life.
Do I need to bind my pet to the gem before it dies?
Yes — binding is what links a specific pet to a specific gem. If you skip binding, the gem won't know which pet to bring back, so do it while your pet is still alive.
How do I bind a pet to an Etheric Gem?
Use the gem on your tamed pet while it's alive and standing near you. Once bound, the gem stores that pet's identity and can be used to revive it later.
Can I bind more than one pet to the same gem?
No — each Etheric Gem holds one pet binding. If you want to protect multiple pets, you'll need a separate gem for each one.
Does my pet keep its name and items after revival?
The pet's name is preserved through the binding, so it comes back with the same name. Items it was carrying or wearing at the time of death are generally not restored, so retrieve them beforehand if you can.
My pet won't revive — what am I doing wrong?
The most common causes are using an unbound gem, trying to revive a pet that was never bound, or using the gem on the wrong target. Make sure the gem is bound to that exact pet and that you're using it correctly.
Does the Etheric Gem work on any mob or just tamed pets?
It only works on tamed pets that have been bound to it. Untamed mobs and wild animals can't be revived with the gem.
Is the Etheric Gem consumed when I revive my pet?
Yes, the gem is used up when the revival happens. You'll need to craft and bind a new gem if you want to protect that pet again.
Does this mod work with other pet or taming mods?
It works with vanilla tamed pets and generally with modded pets that use the standard taming system. Pets from mods with custom taming mechanics may not bind correctly, so test with one pet before relying on it.
