Frequently asked questions

How do I start casting hexes in Hex Casting?
Craft a staff (any wood type works) and a Focus, then hold the staff and right-click to open the pattern-drawing interface. Draw the pattern for your first hex, and it will consume media from your amethyst dust or nearby media sources.
How do I draw patterns on the staff?
Right-click with the staff in hand to open the drawing screen, then click and drag to trace the pattern's shape. Each pattern must be drawn accurately — a sloppy line will fail and waste the media.
What is media and how do I get it?
Media is the energy hexes consume, stored in items like Amethyst Dust or in blocks like the Akashic Record. You can also draw media from the environment using certain patterns, or store it in amethyst-based blocks for later use.
How do I use a scroll in Hex Casting?
Craft Ancient Scroll Paper into a scroll, then inscribe a pattern onto it. Right-click with the scroll to cast the stored hex without needing to draw it manually each time.
