How to Use Hex Casting Scrolls and Ancient Scroll Paper

Crafting Scrolls

Ancient Scroll Paper is the base material for scrolls. You can craft it from materials found in dungeon loot or crafted from Paper and other reagents. Once you have Ancient Scroll Paper, you can inscribe a hex onto it by casting a hex while holding the scroll paper, or by using a specific pattern that writes the current hex to the scroll. The result is a Scroll item that stores the hex pattern.

Using Scrolls

To use a scroll, simply right-click while holding it. The scroll will cast the stored hex as if you had drawn it yourself, consuming media from your environment. This is useful for sharing spells with other players or for quickly casting complex hexes without redrawing them. Scrolls can be stored in Akashic Bookshelves or Akashic Records for easy access.

Scroll Mechanics

Scrolls have a limited number of uses or may be reusable depending on how they are created. Some scrolls are single-use, while others can be reused if you have the right setup. You can also find scrolls as loot in dungeons or trade with villagers. The Hanging Scroll mob is a decorative block that can display scrolls. Experiment with different hexes on scrolls to create a library of spells you can cast instantly.
