How do I use the explorer's compass?
Right-click with the Explorer's Compass in hand to open its structure selection screen, pick the structure you want, then hold it and follow the needle. The needle points toward the nearest matching structure in an area you haven't explored yet.
Why does my explorer's compass keep spinning?
A spinning needle usually means no valid target of the selected type exists within the compass's search range, or you're standing in a dimension where that structure doesn't generate. Try a different structure type or move to another area and check again.
How do I change which structure the compass points to?
Right-click the compass to reopen the selection menu and choose a different structure from the list. The needle updates immediately to point toward the nearest unexplored instance of the new target.
Does the explorer's compass work in the nether and end?
It works in any dimension, but it only locates structures that actually generate there, so pick a target valid for that dimension. If the selected structure doesn't exist in the current dimension, the needle won't find anything.
