Frequently asked questions

How do I turn a villager into a Cook in Chef's Delight?
Place a Skillet down near an unemployed villager so it becomes their job site block, and they will take on the Cook profession. Once they have the job, they will offer simple food trades.
How do I turn a villager into a Chef?
Place a Cooking Pot near an unemployed villager to assign it as their job site block, which gives them the Chef profession. Chefs offer advanced food trades instead of the simple ones Cooks provide.
What's the difference between a Cook and a Chef villager?
Cooks are created with a Skillet and trade simple food, while Chefs are created with a Cooking Pot and trade advanced foods. If you want the better trades, aim for Chefs.
My villager won't become a Cook or Chef, what am I doing wrong?
Make sure the villager is unemployed and has not already been traded with, since a locked-in profession cannot be changed. Also confirm the Skillet or Cooking Pot is placed within the villager's reach and that no other villager has already claimed that job site block.
