Frequently asked questions

How do I start cooking in Alex's Delight?
Kill animals and mobs to collect raw meats and ingredients, then cook them in a furnace, campfire, or smoker like vanilla food. Start with simple cooked meats such as Cooked Bison or Cooked Catfish Slice before moving on to multi-ingredient dishes like sandwiches and pastas.
What do I need to make a bison burger?
You need Bison Mince, which you form into a Bison Patty, then cook the patty and combine it with a bun and other toppings. Check the items and processes sections of the wiki for the exact assembly steps.
How do I cook bunfungus?
Bunfungus can be cooked like other meats, and its drumsticks can be cooked separately to make Cooked Bunfungus Drumstick. Cooked bunfungus is also used as a filling for Bunfungus Sandwich.
Is raw meat safe to eat or do I have to cook it?
Raw meats like Raw Bison, Raw Catfish Slice, and Raw Bunfungus Drumstick are generally best cooked first, since cooked versions usually restore more hunger and are safer. Eat raw only if you have no way to cook and need to avoid starving.
How do I make kangaroo pasta and kangaroo stew?
Kangaroo Pasta uses Kangaroo Shank combined with pasta ingredients, while Kangaroo Stew is a bowl-based dish built from kangaroo meat and other stew components. Cook the Kangaroo Shank first, then follow the recipe in the processes section.
How do I get lobster pasta and catfish dishes?
Lobster Pasta is made by combining lobster with pasta ingredients, and catfish dishes use Raw or Cooked Catfish Slice as the base. Catfish are caught by fishing, so bring a rod when hunting for these recipes.
Are centipede and maggot foods safe to eat?
Yes, but treat them like risky foods — Cooked Centipede Leg and Maggot Salad are edible but may not be as filling as bison or kangaroo dishes. Cook centipede legs before eating and use maggots mainly as a survival food when better options are unavailable.
What do I do with Loose Moose Rib?
Cook the Loose Moose Rib to get Cooked Loose Moose Rib, which can be eaten directly or used in further recipes. It's a solid mid-tier meat if you can find the moose-like mob that drops it.
Does Alex's Delight work with other food mods like Farmer's Delight?
Alex's Delight is designed as a companion to Farmer's Delight, so it generally works alongside it and other food mods without conflicts. If you use a large modpack, check that no other mod overrides the same mob drops or cooking recipes.
Will this mod hurt my performance or cause lag?
Alex's Delight mainly adds items, foods, and a few mob drops, so its performance impact is small compared to mods that add many entities or world generation. Lag is more likely from other mods in your pack than from this one.
