How do I get started with Crate Delight?
Craft a crate or bag using the recipes shown in the mod's crafting screenshots, then place the crate down or keep the bag in your inventory. Right-click a crate to open it and start storing bulk items like apples, eggs, or carrots.
What's the difference between crates and bags?
Crates are placeable blocks that hold bulk items such as apples, sweet berries, eggs, raw salmon, raw cod, glow berries, golden apples, mushrooms, carrots, and potatoes. Bags are compact storage items for things like cocoa beans, sugar, and gunpowder, and they stay in your inventory rather than being placed.
How many items does a crate hold?
Crates are designed for bulk storage of a single item type, so you can dump a large stack of one crop or item into a crate instead of spreading it across chests. Check the crate's interface after placing it to see its capacity for that item.
Can I put different items in the same crate?
Crates are meant for bulk storage of one item type at a time, so mixing items in a single crate defeats the purpose. Use separate crates for each crop or item, or use bags for smaller mixed storage needs.
How do I use bags for cocoa beans, sugar, and gunpowder?
Craft the appropriate bag for the item, then right-click or use the bag to deposit the items into it. Bags are compact, so they save inventory space compared to carrying loose stacks.
How do I add Croptopia crates and bags?
With the Crate Delight: Croptopia addon installed alongside Croptopia, you get over 50 new crates and bags for Croptopia crops. Craft them the same way as base crates and bags, using the corresponding Croptopia crop as the ingredient.
How do I move crates without losing items?
Break the crate with a tool that doesn't destroy the contents, or use the mod's intended pick-up mechanic if one is provided, then place it again in the new spot. Always test with a nearly empty crate first if you're unsure whether your tool preserves the contents.
Do crates and bags work with hoppers or automation?
Crates are placeable blocks and can typically interact with hoppers like other storage blocks, while bags are inventory items and generally aren't automation-friendly. If you need automated input or output, use crates rather than bags.
