Frequently asked questions

How do I get started with Oceans Delight?
Craft a fishing rod or grab a knife and head to the ocean, since most recipes start with squid, cod, guardians, or sea pickles. Kill squid for tentacles and cod for stuffing, then use a crafting grid or cooking pot to turn them into the mod's dishes.
How do I get tentacles?
Squid drop tentacles when killed, and you can also obtain cut tentacles by processing them further. Tentacles are the base for Squid Rings, Tentacle on a Stick, and Baked Tentacle on a Stick.
How do I make squid rings?
Take cut tentacles and process them into rings using the mod's cooking or crafting process. Squid Rings are a safe, edible squid-based food that doesn't require fighting guardians.
How do I cook guardian without dying to thorns?
Guardians deal thorns damage when you hit them, so use a ranged weapon like a bow or trident, or lure them onto land where they flop helplessly. Once dead, their tails and slices can be cooked into Guardian Soup, Cooked Guardian Tail, and other dishes.
How do I make Guardian Soup?
Combine guardian drops like the guardian tail with other ingredients in a cooking pot or crafting recipe to produce Guardian Soup. A Bowl of Guardian Soup is the served version you eat.
How do I make fugu rolls safely?
Fugu is poisonous, so you need to process it into Fugu Slices and Fugu Rolls rather than eating raw pufferfish. Follow the mod's cooking steps to neutralize the poison before consuming.
How do I make Honey Fried Kelp?
Farm kelp in an underwater plot, harvest it, then fry it with honey in the mod's cooking process. Honey Fried Kelp is a renewable food source once you have a kelp farm running.
How do I make Seagrass Salad and Stuffed Cod?
Collect seagrass from ocean floors and combine it with other ingredients for Seagrass Salad. For Stuffed Cod, catch a cod and stuff it with the required filling before cooking it into Cooked Stuffed Cod.
How do I make Braised Sea Pickle?
Harvest sea pickles from warm ocean biomes and cook them using the mod's braising process. Braised Sea Pickle is one of the mod's ocean crop dishes and pairs with other recipes in the Ocean Crops guide.
Does Oceans Delight work with other food mods?
It generally coexists with other food and farming mods since it adds its own items and recipes without overwriting vanilla ones. Check for recipe conflicts if another mod also uses guardians, squid, or kelp as ingredients.
