Frequently asked questions

Do I need CliffTree installed for this to work?
Yes, CliffTree is required for Pastoral Biome Inhabitants to function. Place both data packs in your world's data pack folder, then load the ButterBee resource pack in your game settings for the textures to display correctly.
Why aren't I seeing the custom animal textures?
Make sure the ButterBee resource pack is loaded in your resource pack settings—the data pack alone won't show the visual changes. Also verify that both this pack and CliffTree are enabled in your world's data pack list.
Do the variant animals behave differently than vanilla mobs?
No, all variants retain vanilla mob behavior—they breed, drop items, and respond to commands exactly like normal cows, pigs, chickens, and wolves. The pack only changes their appearance based on biome.
Can I find all cow variants in one biome or do I need to travel?
Each cow variant spawns only in specific biomes, so you'll need to explore different environments to collect them all. For example, Frigid Cows only appear in snowy plains, while Damp Cows spawn in jungles and mangrove swamps.
