Laying the Structural Skeleton

Girders are the backbone of any Design n Decor industrial interior. Run them vertically as support columns and horizontally as ceiling beams before you place any machines. Space them evenly — a consistent rhythm is what makes a factory hall feel engineered rather than cluttered. Use large metal girders for main spans and standard girders for secondary bracing.

Adding Walkable Layers

1. Install catwalks at the height where a player would actually service the machines, usually one or two blocks above the machine's top face.

2. Connect catwalk runs with stairs or ladders so the walkway is genuinely usable, not just decorative.

3. Clad the walls behind your machines with sheet metal, then break up large flat areas with dark metal plating panels or stone metal strips.

4. Place lamps along the catwalk line so light falls on the machines below rather than the ceiling.

5. Use containers and display boards at floor level to suggest storage and control stations.

The goal is a space that looks like it was built to be worked in. Every decorative element should imply a function.
