Towers of the Wild Modded Wiki & Guide
The community wiki and guide for Towers of the Wild Modded — recipes, items, tags and mechanics, kept current for every Minecraft version the mod supports.
Overview
Towers of the Wild adds tall stone towers to world generation. Each one is a landmark you can see from a long way off, with a ladder up the inside and a chest at the top.
There are twenty-two variants. Which one generates depends on the biome, and each is built from materials that suit it - sandstone in the desert, packed ice in snowy country, prismarine out at sea. Two variants are ruins rather than towers: broken stumps, overgrown, of something that used to stand taller.
The mod is world generation and nothing else. It adds no blocks, no items and no recipes, so it changes nothing about how you play except where there is now something to climb.
What Is At The Top
Every tower has a chest in its top room. It rolls four to eight items from:
- Iron ingots and gold nuggets
- Emeralds
- Ender pearls
- A compass
- An enchanted book
- Feathers (prismarine shards in the ocean towers)
On top of that roll, every chest also contains a map, and a glider if you have a mod installed that adds one. Ocean tower chests can additionally hold a heart of the sea.
The glider slot is filled from an item tag that lists gliders from several different mods. With none of them installed the tag is empty and the slot simply produces nothing - the rest of the chest is unaffected.
About this mod
This mod adds a specific type of structure, tall towers inspired by Towers of the Wild.
These towers have a waystone and a chest at the top. You will find a paraglider in the chest everytime, on top of other loot. The waystones are used as a beacon to transport between lands for modpacks that might wish to disable elytra flight or other.
The idea of the mod is to add a structure type to discover when exploring the world and have more to interact with.
The mod adds towers for:
Ad Astra Planets
Blue Skies Dimensions
Twilight Forest (not spawning in 1.19.2 due to Twilight Forest code)
Overworld (several variances such as desert, badlands, ice, regular, etc)
End
Nether
Rats (Ratlantis Dimension)
Aether

Permission has been granted to use structures from Towers of the Wild: Reworked (Datapack) Minecraft Resource Packs - CurseForge & Towers of the Wild: Additions Minecraft Mods - CurseForge
The permission screenshots can be found in the GitHub repo either by clicking source or through this link: celsiusqc/totw_modded_mod (github.com)
The permission to use the data structures was not required as both the mod and datapack were listed with an MIT license, but I felt like it was still worth getting.
