Frequently asked questions

Where do I find silver ore?
Silver ore spawns underground in caves and stone layers, while deepslate silver ore appears deeper in the world. Mine it with an iron pickaxe or better to get raw silver, then smelt or blast it into silver ingots.
How do I stop silver blocks from tarnishing?
Apply honeycomb to silver blocks using a right-click to wax them, which prevents oxidation and keeps them at their current shade permanently. You can remove the wax later by using an axe on the block.
What's the difference between silver blocks at different ages?
Silver blocks progress through four tarnishing stages over time, gradually darkening and changing color like copper does. This is purely visual and doesn't affect function—wax them at any stage if you want to lock in that appearance.
How do I use the Moon Phase Detector?
Place the Moon Phase Detector and it will emit redstone power that changes based on the current moon phase, letting you trigger redstone contraptions tied to lunar cycles. Check the Moon Dial item to see what phase is coming next.
Are silver tools worth crafting?
Silver tools deal solid damage and have balanced durability, making them a good mid-tier option between iron and diamond. They're especially useful if you want the aesthetic or need to use silver ingots for other recipes.
Can I use silver blocks for a beacon base?
Yes, silver blocks work as beacon base layers just like iron, gold, and diamond blocks do. Stack them in the pyramid shape to activate beacon powers.
Do silverfish drop silver?
Silverfish mobs drop silver nuggets when killed, giving you another source of silver beyond mining ore. This is useful for early-game silver farming.
Does this mod work with Create or Farmer's Delight?
Yes, the mod includes compatibility recipes that add silver sheets for Create and silver knives for Farmer's Delight when those mods are installed. Check your crafting table for these additional recipes.
Can mobs spawn wearing silver armor?
Hostile monsters can naturally spawn with silver armor pieces in dark areas, just like they do with other armor types. You can farm these mobs for both the armor and silver nuggets.
What recipes use silver instead of other materials?
Lodestones, brewing stands, repeaters, and comparators have updated recipes that use silver ingots or nuggets. Check your crafting guide in-game to see the exact ingredient swaps.
