How do I get started with SilentCompat materials?
Install the mod and you'll find new ores in the world depending on which mod compatibilities you have enabled—mine them like normal ores to get the base materials. You can also craft alloys by combining materials in a SilentGear alloy forge or similar crafting station if you have the required mods installed.
What's the difference between amplified and devouring effects?
Amplified grants a speed boost and is consumed by Jolt Hit or Blinding to deal extra damage, while Devouring grants absorption hearts and is consumed by Volatile or Umbral Blast for different effects. They're separate effect chains, so you can build gear around whichever playstyle you prefer.
Can I use trait chains together or do they conflict?
You can combine different trait chains on the same gear—for example, pairing Amplifying with Restoration on different pieces—but each chain consumes its own effect, so they won't interfere with each other.
Do I need all the mods for SilentCompat to work?
No, SilentCompat is modular—materials and traits from other mods only appear if you have those mods installed, so you can use just the compatibilities you want.
How do I make a night-focused gear set?
Use materials with the Nocturnal trait, which slowly repairs your gear and increases damage at night; pair it with pieces that complement nighttime play, and avoid Diurnal materials which do the opposite.
What's the best way to use Vorpal and Hungering Strike together?
Vorpal deals more damage to high-health targets while Hungering Strike deals more damage when you're low on hunger—they work in different situations, so use Vorpal for boss fights and Hungering Strike for survival situations where you can't eat.
Can I edit the JSON files to change material stats?
Yes, SilentCompat materials are data-driven JSON files that you can edit directly to customize stats, traits, and colors without needing to recompile the mod.
Why isn't my Twilight Forest gear getting the fire react trait?
Fire React and other mod-specific traits only function when their required mod is loaded—make sure Twilight Forest is installed and enabled alongside SilentCompat.
What materials should I use for a tank/armor build?
Look for materials with Knightly (more damage to armored targets), Purifying (removes harmful effects), and Fire React (damages attackers), or combine them with high durability materials from your installed mods.
Do Nocturnal and Diurnal effects stack if I wear both?
No, they're opposite effects—wearing both will cancel each other out, so choose one based on when you play or build separate gear sets for day and night.
