First, craft a Color Essence using the recipe shown in the wiki, then craft a Paintbrush. Place your paintbrush in a crafting grid with any dye to color it, and you're ready to right-click blocks to paint them.
What blocks can I dye with this mod?
You can dye wool, carpet, concrete, terracotta, wood planks, wood plank stairs, wood plank slabs, bricks, brick stairs, brick slabs, stained glass, stained glass panes, glowstone, and iron bars.
Do I need a different paintbrush for each color?
Yes, you need to craft and dye a separate paintbrush for each color you want to use. You can dye a paintbrush by placing it in a crafting grid with any dye.
Can I dye regular glass or only stained glass?
This mod only allows you to dye stained glass and stained glass panes, not regular glass blocks.
What happens if I right-click a block that can't be dyed?
Nothing will happen—the mod only affects blocks on the paintable blocks list, so other blocks will remain unchanged.
Can I undo a dyed block and get the original color back?
You can paint over a dyed block with a different color by right-clicking it with another paintbrush, or break the block and place a new undyed one.
Do I need Color Essence for every paintbrush I make?
Yes, you need to craft a Color Essence as part of the paintbrush recipe each time you want to make a new paintbrush.
Can I dye stairs and slabs made from materials other than wood and bricks?
No, this mod only allows you to dye wood plank stairs, wood plank slabs, brick stairs, and brick slabs—not stairs or slabs from other materials.
