Frequently asked questions

What does Moonlight Lib actually do?
It's a shared library that other mods depend on, so it mostly adds behind-the-scenes code rather than its own content. The one thing you can interact with directly is the Spawn Box Block.
Why did I install Moonlight Lib and get no new items?
That's expected — Moonlight Lib is a dependency, not a content mod, so it has almost nothing of its own. The items and blocks you were expecting come from the mods that require it.
How do I get a Spawn Box Block?
The Spawn Box is the mod's one visible block, and you obtain it the same way you'd get any block in your pack. If you can't find it in your inventory or creative menu, check that Moonlight Lib is actually loaded alongside its dependent mods.
What is the Spawn Box Block used for?
It's a spawn-control block that other mods hook into, letting them define or restrict where mobs appear. On its own it does very little — its behavior comes from the mods that depend on Moonlight Lib.
Do I need Moonlight Lib if I don't want the Spawn Box?
Yes, if any other mod in your pack lists it as a dependency. Removing it will break those mods even if you never touch the Spawn Box yourself.
My Spawn Box isn't working — what should I check?
First confirm the mod that's supposed to use the Spawn Box is installed and loaded, since the block relies on that mod for its behavior. Then check for version mismatches between Moonlight Lib and its dependents, which is the most common cause of a broken Spawn Box.
Can I use Moonlight Lib on a server?
Yes, but it must be installed on both the server and the client, and the same version on each. A mismatch between server and client is a frequent cause of connection or spawn errors.
Will Moonlight Lib slow down my game?
As a library it adds minimal overhead by itself; performance issues usually come from the content mods using it. If you notice lag, check the dependent mods rather than Moonlight Lib.
Why do other mods say they need Moonlight Lib?
Those mods use Moonlight Lib's shared code so they don't have to rewrite common systems themselves. Installing it satisfies their dependency and lets them run.
Can I remove Moonlight Lib if I don't see it doing anything?
Only if no other mod depends on it. If anything in your pack lists it as a requirement, removing it will cause those mods to fail to load or crash.
