Frequently asked questions

How do I craft bone torches?
Combine a bone with any type of coal in a crafting grid to create four bone torches. Bones drop from skeletons, and coal can be mined or obtained from coal ore.
What's the difference between bone torches and soul bone torches?
Soul bone torches are crafted by adding soul sand or soul soil to the bone and coal recipe, giving them a different appearance suited for Nether builds. Both provide the same light level as regular torches.
Can I use charcoal instead of coal?
Yes, the mod accepts any type of coal, including charcoal, so you can craft bone torches without mining coal ore.
Do bone torches work in the Nether?
Yes, bone torches work everywhere regular torches do, and the mod generates bone torches naturally throughout the Nether as replacements for normal torches.
What are the sub-colored variants for?
Sub-colored bone torch variants are purely decorative, allowing you to customize the appearance of your builds with different colored bone torches.
How do I get the different colored Bone Torch variants?
If the Chisel mod is installed alongside Bone Torch Mod, you can use Chisel's customization features to access and craft different colored variants of bone torches.
Do I need the Chisel mod to use this mod?
No, Chisel is optional and only needed if you want to customize bone torch colors; the mod works fine without it.
Will bone torches replace all torches in the Nether?
The mod generates bone torches naturally in Nether structures, but you can still place regular torches if you prefer.
Do bone torches give off the same amount of light as regular torches?
Yes, bone torches provide the same light level as standard Minecraft torches.
Can I use bones from other mods to craft bone torches?
The mod is designed to work with standard Minecraft bones from skeletons; compatibility with bones from other mods depends on whether those mods use the same bone item.
