How do I tame aquatic mobs?
Hold raw or cooked fish in your main hand and approach the mob you want to tame. The mob will eat the fish from your hand, and once fed enough, it becomes yours. You can then control it by pressing Shift and right-clicking to toggle between staying in place or wandering freely.
What's the difference between the mermaid types?
Abyssal Mermaids are aggressive deep-sea hunters that eat other mobs and drop loot when struck while full. Tropical Pygmy Mermaids are passive reef dwellers that search for pearls and gems when fed over sand, gravel, or clay blocks. Microspinus are swamp and river creatures that hunt fish and lay eggs when fed cooked cod.
Where do I find Crab Girls?
Crab Girls emerge from broken sand blocks, especially along beaches. Using a Pearl Shovel while digging sandy shorelines increases your chances of uncovering them.
How do I get pearls and gems?
Feed raw fish to tamed Tropical Pygmy Mermaids while they're over underwater sand, gravel, or clay blocks—they'll dig up pearls and shiny gems for you to collect.
What can I craft with pearls and crab shells?
Pearls and crab shells are used at a crafting table to create specialized ocean tools like the Pearl Shovel and Depth Slasher, as well as protective crab shell armor sets.
Do the ocean tools work on land?
The Depth Slasher and Deep Digger are designed for underwater use—the Depth Slasher deals extra damage when wet, and the Deep Digger grants Haste II while submerged. They function on land but without their special bonuses.
