Frequently asked questions
Do I need to do anything to enable cobbled stone drops when I mine?
No, cobbled stone drops are enabled by default. Just mine Granite, Andesite, Diorite, Tuff, or Calcite with a pickaxe and you'll get the cobbled version automatically. If you want to disable this feature or toggle world generation for colored variants, you can edit the cobblestoney.toml configuration file.
How do I turn smooth stone blocks back into their original form?
What blocks can I combine to make mixed blocks?
You can mix basic materials like sand and clay to create Sandy Clay, or mud and stone to create Mudstone. Combine different dirt, sand, and clay blocks in your crafting grid to experiment with new mixed block types.
Where do Mud, Silt, and Loam drops come from?
These items drop when you break Mud, Silt, and Loam blocks, similar to how clay balls drop from clay blocks in vanilla Minecraft. You can use these drops to craft mixed blocks or other recipes.
Do the new colored stone variants generate naturally in my world?
Yes, colored versions of Granite generate naturally as you explore underground. You can toggle this world generation feature on or off in the cobblestoney.toml configuration file.
Can I use cobbled blocks for decoration, or do they need to be smelted?
Cobbled blocks work great for decoration and building—you don't have to smelt them. Only smelt them back to smooth stone if you want the original block type for a specific build.
Does this mod work with machine mods?
Yes, the mod includes extra crushing recipes that work with other machine mods, so you can process cobbled and mixed blocks using compatible machines.
What pickaxe do I need to mine these new stone blocks?
The mod uses standard Minecraft mining rules—use a stone pickaxe or better to successfully mine and collect cobbled stone blocks.
Can I craft mixed blocks without a crafting table?
You combine materials in your crafting grid, which works in your inventory crafting window or at a crafting table. Check the recipe for your desired mixed block to see the exact combination needed.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and shouldn't cause performance problems. If you experience issues, try disabling world generation for colored stone variants in the cobblestoney.toml file to reduce chunk generation overhead.
