Using a Furnace

Place your cobbled stone blocks into a furnace along with fuel (coal, wood, etc.). The cobbled blocks will smelt into their original smooth forms—Granite becomes smooth Granite, Andesite becomes smooth Andesite, and so on.

Using a Campfire

You can also cook cobbled blocks on a campfire. This is slower than a furnace but works without fuel.

Why Smelt?

Smelting is useful when you want smooth stone variants for building or decoration. The smooth blocks look different from their cobbled counterparts, giving you more aesthetic options for construction. You can toggle between cobbled and smooth as needed for your builds.
