Frequently asked questions

Where do the new animals spawn?
Barnyard Buddies animals spawn naturally in different biomes alongside regular Minecraft animals. Check your world's various biomes like plains, forests, and grasslands to find breeds like Hampshire Pigs, Cochin Bantam Chickens, Jacob's Sheep, and Clydesdale Horses.
How do I stop mice from eating my crops?
House mice will eat your crops by default, but you can disable this behavior by setting house_mice_crop_damage to off in the mod's configuration file. This prevents mice from damaging your farm without removing them from the world.
What does the great pyrenees dog do?
The Great Pyrenees is a guard dog that actively protects your farm by fighting off coyotes, zombies, skeletons, and wild wolves. Tame one with bones to add it to your livestock defense.
Can I breed the new animals?
Yes, you can breed and manage specific animal varieties including the new real-world breeds added by the mod. Refer to the Breed and Manage Specific Animal Varieties guide for detailed breeding mechanics.
How do I get special wool from jacob's sheep?
Jacob's Sheep drop special spotted wool when you shear them, just like regular sheep. The wool has a unique appearance that reflects the breed's distinctive spotted pattern.
What can I do with the clydesdale horse?
Clydesdale Horses are large horses with hairy hooves that can be decorated with colorful quilts and carpets. You can ride and breed them like regular horses while enjoying their unique appearance and customization options.
How do I tame a manx cat?
Manx Cats can be tamed and come in four different fur color variations. Use the standard taming method to add them to your farm.
What decorative blocks does this mod add?
The mod includes chainlink mesh, iron corrals, barn walls, chainlink doors, quilt fabrics, carpets, and awnings to help you build custom animal pens, barns, and decorate your homestead. See the Decorate Your Homestead with Themed Blocks guide for building ideas.
Do coyotes attack my animals?
Yes, wild coyotes spawn in the world and hunt your livestock as a threat to your farm. Use Great Pyrenees dogs or other defensive measures to protect your animals from predation.
Are there flemish giant rabbits in this mod?
Yes, the mod adds large Flemish Giant Rabbits that spawn and hop around grassy fields. They provide a bigger alternative to regular rabbits for your farm.
