Frequently asked questions

How do I start with Alex's Mobs Delight?
Begin by hunting animals from Alex's Mobs to gather their drops, then use a cooking station or crafting table to turn these ingredients into the new food items added by the mod. You'll need access to Farmer's Delight cooking equipment to prepare most recipes.
What's the best way to get mantis shrimp parts?
Hunt mantis shrimp directly using one of the three special knives added by the mod—each knife has different effectiveness. Alternatively, trade with fisherman villagers who will exchange emeralds for mantis shrimp tool parts if you can't find them in the wild.
How do I make the enchanted eternal seagull meal?
Feed magical food to a wild seagull first, then hunt that seagull to collect the enchanted drops. Cook these drops using the mod's recipes to create the enchanted eternal seagull meal.
Can I grow bananas and acacia blossoms anywhere?
Plant banana seeds and acacia blossom seeds in dirt blocks like you would regular crops. They'll grow naturally over time and can be harvested for use in cooking recipes.
What do the feast blocks do?
Feast blocks are decorative food blocks that you can place down and share with other players—they display cooked meals and add a festive element to your base. You can craft six different types based on which animal ingredients you use.
Which knife should I use for cooking?
The mod adds three specialized knives, each with different purposes when preparing food ingredients. Check your crafting recipes to see which knife is required for specific meal preparations.
Do I need Farmer's Delight installed for this mod to work?
Yes, Alex's Mobs Delight is designed as an addon that requires Farmer's Delight to function, as it adds recipes that use Farmer's Delight cooking mechanics and equipment.
What potion effects can I get from eating these meals?
The mod includes five different potion effects tied to specific meals—eating certain cooked dishes will grant temporary buffs. Experiment with different recipes to discover which meals provide which effects.
Can I use these ingredients in regular Minecraft recipes?
Most Alex's Mobs Delight ingredients are designed specifically for the mod's cooking recipes and feast blocks. Some raw animal drops may work in vanilla recipes, but the cooked meals are primarily for eating and the potion effects they provide.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod adds content without major performance concerns, but having both Alex's Mobs and Farmer's Delight installed alongside it may impact performance depending on your system. Monitor your frame rate if you experience slowdowns.
