Frequently asked questions

What does the Eggs N Eyes Resource Pack actually change?
It redraws spawn egg textures so each egg shows the face and eyes of the mob it spawns instead of a plain colored egg. Nothing about spawning behavior, mob stats, or recipes changes — it's purely a visual texture pack.
How do I turn the pack on after installing it?
Open Options, then Resource Packs, and move Eggs N Eyes from the Available list to the Selected list. Make sure it sits above any other pack that also edits spawn egg textures, or those textures will override it.
Why do some spawn eggs still look plain after I enable the pack?
Another resource pack loaded above Eggs N Eyes is probably overwriting those egg textures. Drag Eggs N Eyes to the top of your Selected packs list and reload, or remove the conflicting pack.
Does this pack work with modded mobs or other mods that add spawn eggs?
It only retextures the vanilla spawn eggs it ships with, so eggs from other mods keep their original look. If a modded egg uses the same base texture path, it may pick up an egg face by accident — reorder your packs if that happens.
Will Eggs N Eyes hurt my FPS or performance?
No — it only swaps a handful of small item textures, so there's no measurable performance cost. Any lag you see is coming from something else, like shaders or mob farms.
Can I use this pack on a server or with friends?
Resource packs are client-side, so each player has to enable Eggs N Eyes themselves to see the faces. The server doesn't need it, and players without it just see normal eggs.
Does it work in Bedrock Edition or only Java?
Check the pack's download page for which edition it targets, since Java and Bedrock use different pack formats. A Java pack won't load on Bedrock and vice versa.
How do I tell two similar eggs apart, like Piglin vs Piglin Brute?
Look at the face on the egg — the Brute has a distinctly different expression and coloring from the regular Piglin. This is exactly the problem the pack solves, so you can sort your inventory without hovering over each egg.
Do the egg faces show up in item frames and on the ground?
Yes, the texture applies everywhere the item is rendered — inventory, hotbar, item frames, dropped items, and containers. That makes them useful as labels for mob farms and museum displays.
Can I edit the textures or make my own version?
You can open the pack file and replace the individual egg PNGs with your own art, then re-zip it as a resource pack. Just keep the same file names and folder structure so the game finds them.
