Frequently asked questions
How do I craft a wind chime?
Craft wind chimes at a crafting table using basic materials like wooden planks, sticks, and metal ingots (iron or copper depending on the chime type). Bamboo wind chimes use bamboo instead of metal. All recipes use only vanilla Minecraft ingredients.
Why isn't my wind chime making sounds?
Wind chimes only produce sounds when wind is blowing in your world. Make sure the chime is placed correctly—bamboo chimes must attach directly to vertical wall blocks or hang from ceilings, while other chimes need a ceiling block above them to hang from.
Can I place wind chimes anywhere?
Iron and copper wind chimes must hang from ceiling blocks. Bamboo wind chimes are more flexible and can attach directly to vertical wall blocks or hang from ceilings, giving you more placement options for decoration.
How close does a dreamcatcher need to be to my bed?
Place your dreamcatcher within 3 to 4 blocks of your bed for it to activate sleep healing. When you wake up, your health bar will be completely refilled.
What happens if I break a dreamcatcher?
Dreamcatchers drop as items when broken and retain their custom wood type and all saved data, so you can pick them up and place them elsewhere without losing any customization.
How do I change a dreamcatcher's wood type?
Right-click a placed dreamcatcher with any matching wood log block to change its frame to that wood type. You can switch between oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak.
How do I get experience from a dreamcatcher?
Hold a Totem of Undying in your main hand before sleeping near a dreamcatcher. When you sleep, the totem will be consumed and you'll gain 650 EXP instead of the normal sleep healing.
Can I use both sleep healing and the Totem of Undying at the same time?
No—if you hold a Totem of Undying in your main hand while sleeping near a dreamcatcher, the totem takes priority and converts to experience instead of triggering the health refill.
Do wind chimes and dreamcatchers work in multiplayer?
Yes, both features work in multiplayer servers and worlds. Each player's sleep healing and totem conversions function independently based on their proximity to dreamcatchers.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Wind chimes and dreamcatchers are lightweight decorative and utility blocks. Performance impact should be minimal, but placing many chimes in one area may slightly increase sound processing.
