How do I find the Ominous Valley biome?
Travel across the Overworld and look for areas with thick fog and eerie atmosphere—the Ominous Valley is a naturally spawning biome. You can also use the mod's custom biome locator or explore systematically from your spawn point, as the biome tends to generate in clusters.
What's the best way to stop my fear meter from rising?
Keep your light levels high by placing torches, carrying light sources like lanterns, and avoiding pitch-black areas. The fear bar rises fastest in deep biomes and complete darkness, so staying in lit areas is your primary defense.
What happens if my fear meter maxes out?
Reaching maximum fear triggers deadly encounters and game-ending events, including spawns of hostile entities like Deadtime Jones. You should retreat to well-lit areas immediately if your fear bar is nearly full.
How do I stop Corrupted Spores from spreading?
Break Corrupted Spores before they multiply and spawn Corruptinies. If you have AllowCorruptedPlague enabled in your game rules, the spores will spread aggressively, so prioritize clearing them from areas you want to keep safe.
Can I turn off the fear mechanic?
Yes—use the AreYouScared game rule to disable the fear bar system entirely if you prefer a less intense experience.
What are Corruptinies and why are there so many?
Corruptinies are hostile floating entities that spawn from Corrupted Spores and multiply if AllowCorruptedPlague is enabled. They're dangerous in groups, so clearing spores early prevents them from overwhelming an area.
Is the Hazed Plains biome navigable or just a death trap?
The Hazed Plains is navigable but extremely dangerous due to blinding mist that obscures vision and raises fear quickly. Bring multiple light sources, move carefully, and consider marking your path to avoid getting lost.
Do I need to worry about fear in other dimensions?
Yes—the fear bar rises when you're in other dimensions, so bring extra light sources and be prepared for encounters if you venture into the Nether or End.
Can I adjust how often Deadtime Jones spawns?
Yes—use the DeadtimeSpawnChance game rule to increase or decrease how frequently Deadtime Jones appears in your world.
What wood types can I find in the Ominous Valley?
