Frequently asked questions
How do I spawn my first soldier?
Craft a Clay Soldier Doll and place it on any block to spawn a soldier. You can spawn soldiers in different colors to create opposing teams for battles.
How do I get my soldiers to pick up weapons and armor?
Drop weapons, armor, and compatible items on the ground near your soldiers, and they will automatically equip them. Make sure the gear is compatible with the soldier type you're using.
What's the Battle Command Staff and how do I use it?
Hold the Battle Command Staff to direct your army during combat and set formations. You can issue attack, follow, hold, or retreat orders to control your soldiers' behavior in battle.
Can I make my soldiers ride animals?
Yes, you can mount your troops on little horses, pegasi, turtles, bunnies, and geckos to give them mobility and combat advantages.
How do I set up a custom battle arena?
Place Team Spawners to define where soldiers spawn and use Arena Controllers to set up custom battle waves and track winners. You have full control over the terrain and battle conditions.
Do the tiny kingdoms do anything on their own?
Yes, kingdoms spawn naturally across the land with working towns, unique rulers, and daily jobs for residents. You can watch them live and fight autonomously, or interact with their trade boats and diplomacy systems.
What vehicles and war machines can I deploy?
You can deploy tiny scout biplanes, bombers, beetle tanks, and siege mortars for combat, plus transport options like steam trains, merchant airships, and festival caravans. None of these break terrain.
How do I find recipes and learn what items do?
Read the Clay Lexicon book in-game to check recipes, mount types, vehicle kits, and other item information. You can also use the Clay World Atlas to track kingdoms.
Can I build structures for my tiny kingdoms?
Yes, the mod includes 20 custom miniature building kits like bakeries, watchtowers, inns, and shipyards that you can place to expand your kingdoms. Working watercraft like fishing skiffs and cargo barges can also be deployed near docks.
Do soldiers need to be fed or maintained?
Soldiers primarily need gear and weapons to be effective in combat; the mod focuses on equipping and commanding them rather than resource management like feeding.
