Frequently asked questions

How do I start making my own tooltip theme?
Open the configuration menu (accessible from the mod settings) and navigate to the theme creation section. You'll define a new theme by specifying colors, text formatting, background styles, and layout properties in the data files, then assign it to item categories or specific items.
Where do I put custom tooltip theme files?
Custom theme files go in your world or server's datapack folder under `data/simplytoolips/themes/` (or in your mod's config directory, depending on your setup). Check the mod's config folder for example theme files to use as templates.
Can I use Simply Tooltips themes on items from other mods?
Yes, you can create or customize themes to apply to any modded item by specifying the item's registry name in your theme configuration. The mod is designed to work with both vanilla and modded items.
How do I enable scrolling for tooltips that are too long?
In your theme configuration, enable the scrolling feature and set a maximum height for tooltips. When tooltip text exceeds this height, players can scroll through it using the mouse wheel without the tooltip extending off-screen.
