Frequently asked questions

How do I get started with Pylons?
Craft a pylon block and place it down, then give it a filter item so it knows what to target. Each pylon type needs its own filter — for example, a Mob Filter for the Expulsion Pylon or a Block Filter for the Harvester Pylon.
How do I power a pylon?
Pylons draw energy from a nearby power source or from fuel placed inside them, depending on configuration. Check the configuration section of the wiki for the exact energy setup your pack uses.
What does the Harvester Pylon actually harvest?
It harvests mature crops in its working area and can replant them if configured to do so. Use a Block Filter to tell it which crops or blocks to target.
Why isn't my Harvester Pylon picking up crops?
The most common causes are a missing or wrong Block Filter, crops that aren't fully grown, or no energy reaching the pylon. Make sure the filter matches the crop and that the pylon has power.
How do I stop mobs from spawning near my base?
Place an Expulsion Pylon with a Mob Filter set to the mobs you want gone. It pushes those mobs out of its radius, so position it to cover the area you want to keep clear.
What's the difference between the Protection Pylon and the Interdiction Pylon?
The Protection Pylon blocks damage and hostile effects in its area, while the Interdiction Pylon prevents unwanted players or entities from entering. Use a Player Filter with the Interdiction Pylon to control who can pass.
How do filters work?
Filters are items you place in a pylon to define what it affects — mobs, players, blocks, or potion effects. Each pylon accepts specific filter types, so match the filter to the pylon's job.
How do I apply potion effects to an area?
Use the Infusion Pylon together with a Potion Filter to spread a chosen effect over its radius. Set the filter to the potion you want and make sure the pylon has power.
Can I use Pylons with other mods?
Yes, pylons generally work alongside other mods since they interact with standard blocks, mobs, and players. If a specific mod's blocks or entities aren't recognized, try a matching filter or check the configuration.
Will lots of Pylons lag my game?
Pylons are lightweight, but stacking many with large radii or frequent operations can add up. Keep radii reasonable and only run the pylons you actually need to avoid tick lag.
