Fast IP Ping Mod speeds up connecting to servers that use a direct IP address. Normally, when you join a server using an IP like `192.168.2.10:25565`, Minecraft tries to look up a domain name for it. This can cause long delays, especially if no domain name exists.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install Fast IP Ping on the server too?
No. Fast IP Ping is client-side only, so it works on any server as long as it's installed on your game. The server doesn't need the mod and other players won't be affected.
How do I know Fast IP Ping is actually doing anything?
Compare the ping time and join delay for a server you connect to by raw IP before and after installing the mod. If the delay drops noticeably, especially for servers with no domain name, it's working.
Does Fast IP Ping work on servers that use a domain name instead of an IP?
It has little to no effect there, because the mod only skips the reverse DNS lookup for direct IP addresses. Domain-based servers already resolve normally, so you won't see a speed change.
Why do servers with IP addresses take so long to ping in the first place?
Minecraft tries to look up a domain name for the raw IP before connecting, and that reverse lookup can hang for a long time when no domain exists. Fast IP Ping skips that unnecessary check entirely.
