Reviewing What You Have Muted
Over time the muted list grows and becomes hard to reason about. Open the interface periodically and scan for entries toggled off or with reduced volume. Because the list is searchable, you can check a whole group at once — search a keyword and see at a glance which related
sounds are suppressed.
Restoring Sounds
1. Locate the entry in the list.
2. Toggle it back on, or return its volume slider to full.
3. Close the interface; the sound returns immediately without a restart.
If you are unsure what a muted entry actually
sounds like, restore it temporarily, play until it triggers, then decide whether to mute it again. This is the safest way to avoid permanently losing an important audio cue.
Keeping It Tidy
- Mute at the most specific level you can, rather than silencing broad groups.
- Prefer attenuation over full mute for
sounds that carry information, such as warnings or approaching mobs. - After a major game or mod update, revisit the list, since sound event identifiers can change and leave stale entries that no longer match anything.
A short review after each big update keeps the configuration accurate and prevents the confusion of
sounds that seem to ignore your settings.
