Opening the Sound List
Extreme Sound Muffler works entirely client-side, so you do not need to be an operator or change server settings. The interface is opened with a keybind, which you can find and rebind under the mod's own key category in Minecraft's Controls menu. If pressing the default key does nothing, check that another mod has not claimed the same key.
Once open, you get a searchable list of every sound event your client has registered. Type part of a sound's name to narrow it down — for example, searching for a mob name or an ambient keyword is usually faster than scrolling.
Muting or Attenuating a Sound
1. Find the sound event you want to silence in the list.
2. Toggle it off, or drag its volume slider down, depending on whether you want full mute or just a reduction.
3. Close the interface — changes apply immediately and persist between sessions.
Muffling is per sound event, not per source, so muting a sound silences it everywhere it plays, not just near
one block. If you only want a quieter result rather than total silence, use the volume control instead of the mute toggle. To undo a change, reopen the list and restore the toggle or slider to its original position.
