How do I put a trim on my elytra?
Take your elytra, a smithing template, and the trim material to a smithing table and apply the trim the same way you would for a chestplate. The elytra keeps its flight behavior and just gains the trim pattern.
Does trimming an elytra change how it works?
No, trims are purely cosmetic. Your elytra still flies, still takes durability damage, and still needs mending or repair the same as before.
How do I remove a trim from my elytra?
There is no in-game way to strip a trim back off, so you either apply a different trim material over it or use a grindstone-style reset if your version supports it. In most cases players just re-trim with a new template and material.
Can I change the trim on an elytra I already trimmed?
Yes, apply a new smithing template and material at the smithing table to overwrite the existing trim. The old pattern is replaced, not stacked.
