How do I make an armored elytra?
Place your elytra and any chestplate together in an anvil (or smithing table, depending on your version) to combine them into a single armored elytra item. The resulting item will have both the flight capability of the elytra and the armor protection of the chestplate.
Can I use any chestplate with an elytra?
Yes, the mod supports combining any chestplate type—leather, iron, diamond, netherite, and others—with an elytra. Different chestplates will provide different levels of protection while flying.
What happens to durability when I combine armor and elytra?
Both the elytra and chestplate durability carry over to the armored elytra as separate durability pools. When you fly, the elytra durability depletes; when you take damage, the armor durability depletes.
How do I separate an armored elytra back into its parts?
Use a grindstone to disassemble the armored elytra, and you'll get back both the original elytra and chestplate. This is useful if you want to repair them separately or use the pieces in different combinations.
