How do I stop items from flying to me in Minecraft?
Place a Demagnetizer block near the area where items keep getting pulled toward you. It stops nearby dropped items from being attracted to players, so you can mine or fight without your inventory filling up.
What is the difference between demagnetizer and advanced demagnetizer?
The Advanced Demagnetizer covers a larger area than the regular Demagnetizer, so you need fewer of them to protect a big space. Use the regular one for small setups and the advanced one for farms, storage rooms, or large builds.
How do I craft a demagnetizer?
Check the recipe in JEI or REI once you have the mod installed, since the exact ingredients depend on your version. The blocks are the only two items the mod adds, so both recipes show up in your recipe viewer.
How big is the demagnetizer range?
Each Demagnetizer blocks item attraction in a radius around the block, and the Advanced Demagnetizer covers a noticeably larger radius. If items still fly to you at the edges of your build, add another unit or switch to the advanced version.
Do demagnetizers work through walls and floors?
Yes, the effect is based on distance from the block, not line of sight. You can hide a Demagnetizer under the floor or behind a wall and it will still stop items in the surrounding area from being pulled to players.
Why are items still flying to me with a demagnetizer placed?
The most common causes are standing outside the block's radius, the block being unpowered or disabled if your setup uses redstone, or another mod overriding item attraction. Move closer to the block or place additional units to cover the gap.
Do demagnetizers stop hoppers from picking up items?
No, Demagnetizers only stop items from being pulled toward players. Hoppers, hopper minecarts, and other collection methods still work normally, which is why they pair well with sorting systems.
Can I turn a demagnetizer on and off with redstone?
Yes, Demagnetizers respond to redstone, so you can toggle them with a lever, button, or pressure plate. This is useful when you want items to fly to you sometimes but not others, like during mining trips versus farm harvesting.
Will demagnetizers lag my world if I place a lot of them?
The blocks are lightweight and generally don't cause noticeable lag even in large numbers. If you're covering a huge area, using Advanced Demagnetizers reduces the total block count and keeps things efficient.
Does Demagnetize work with other mods that change item pickup?
