Using Demagnetizers With Hoppers and Item Sorting Systems

Why Combine Them

By default, dropped items fly to the nearest player, which makes automated sorting impossible — items never reach your hoppers. A Demagnetizer fixes this by keeping drops on the ground, letting gravity, water streams, or hoppers move them into chests and sorters.

Basic Setup

1. Place your Demagnetizer so its field covers the kill chamber or drop point.

2. Put a hopper (or hopper minecart) directly under the floor where items land.

3. Route the hopper into your storage or sorting system as usual.

4. Stand outside the field while testing so you do not accidentally grab the items yourself.

Tips

• If items still vanish into your inventory, you are standing inside the field's radius — step back.
• Use the Advanced Demagnetizer for wide farms so a single unit covers the whole collection area.
• Combine with water channels to push items toward a central hopper instead of relying on many hoppers.
• Remember the block only stops *player* attraction; it does not move items on its own, so you still need hoppers or water to collect them.
