Kill Gem Zombies, which spawn naturally anywhere regular zombies spawn in your world. Each Gem Zombie has a chance to drop one of the 12 different Effect Gems when defeated.
Can Gem Zombies spawn from zombie spawners?
Yes, Gem Zombies can spawn from naturally generated zombie spawners in dungeons and other structures, making spawners a reliable farming location.
How do I use an Effect Gem once I have one?
Place the Effect Gem in your offhand slot (the slot next to your main hand). The gem will automatically grant you its associated status effect as long as it remains in your offhand.
What happens if I switch gems while one is in my offhand?
The previous gem's effect will stop, and the new gem's effect will begin immediately once it's placed in your offhand slot.
