Overview

Ash API is a library mod. It does not add blocks, items, mobs or world generation, and it changes nothing about how the game plays. Instead it sits underneath other mods and gives them one shared way of doing the handful of things almost every mod needs.

Minecraft mods are normally written against a specific mod loader, and the same feature has to be written twice if the author wants to support more than one. Ash API removes that duplication: a mod written against it asks Ash API for what it needs, and Ash API talks to whichever loader is actually running.

For a player this means one thing only — some mods list Ash API as a requirement, and they will not start without it. Once installed it runs silently in the background.

Frequently asked questions

What does Draggable Lists change about in-game menus?
It replaces the default arrow buttons with drag-and-drop controls so you can click, drag, and reorder entries directly. The new list positions apply right away.
Which screens can I drag entries in?
You can drag entries in the Resource Packs screen, the data pack list when creating a new singleplayer world, and the multiplayer server list. Rows slide out of the way while dragging to show where your selection will land.
How do I reorder my resource packs with this mod?
Open the Resource Packs menu and drag the pack entries to change their load order. The vanilla arrow buttons are hidden so the pack icons stay clear.
Can I change the order of my multiplayer servers?
Yes, you can move servers up and down freely in your multiplayer server list by dragging them. The change takes effect immediately.
