How to Use the Bronze Compass and Navigate Deep Aether

Crafting the Bronze Compass

The Bronze Compass is a navigation tool added by Deep Aether. Unlike the vanilla compass, which points to world spawn, the Bronze Compass is designed to help you locate specific Deep Aether structures or points of interest. To craft it, you will need bronze-related materials and likely a vanilla compass as a base. Check your recipe book or JEI/REI for the exact recipe once you have gathered Deep Aether metals and other components.

Navigating with the Compass

Once crafted, hold the Bronze Compass and observe its needle. It will point toward a relevant target — typically a Deep Aether structure, biome, or boss arena. Use it alongside landmarks like Aseterite formations and Aerglow Blossom clusters to orient yourself. The compass is especially useful in the Aether's floating islands where traditional maps are less helpful. Combine it with the Cloud Cape for safe gliding between islands, and consider bringing a Conberry Boat or Cruderoot Boat if your travels take you near water. Always carry backup navigation — a bed to set respawn and torches to mark your path — in case the compass target is far or obscured.
