How to Tame and Ride an Aerwhale in Deep Aether

Obtaining the Aerwhale Saddle

Aerwhales are large flying mobs found in the Aether and Deep Aether biomes. To ride one, you first need an Aerwhale Saddle, which is a special item distinct from a normal Minecraft saddle. Craft or obtain this saddle through Deep Aether progression — it typically requires materials gathered from Deep Aether biomes and mobs. Once you have the saddle in hand, locate an Aerwhale. They tend to spawn in open sky areas and near aercloud formations.

Saddling and Flying

Approach the Aerwhale carefully — they are passive but large, and you need to be close enough to interact. Right-click the Aerwhale with the Aerwhale Saddle equipped. Once saddled, right-click again to mount. While riding, you control direction and altitude. Aerwhales are excellent for exploring the expanded Aether dimension quickly, especially for reaching floating islands and distant Deep Aether biomes. Dismount by sneaking. If your Aerwhale wanders off, you can lure it back with its preferred food, though specifics vary. Keep the Aerwhale Totem handy if you want a decorative or functional reminder of your mount.
