Alex's Mobs adds rideable dragons, but they don't work like vanilla horses. You need to find one first, then earn its trust before you can saddle up.
Finding and Taming
Dragons spawn in specific biomes depending on their type. Once you locate one, do not attack it — hostile dragons will refuse to be tamed. Instead, feed it the food it prefers (typically meat-based items). Repeated feeding builds trust, shown by heart particles. When the dragon is tamed, it will no longer flee or attack you.
Riding and Control
Once tamed, right-click the dragon with a saddle to equip it, then right-click again to mount. In the air, use your look direction to steer and press the jump key to ascend. Some dragons can breathe fire or perform special attacks while mounted — check the
Animal Dictionary in-game for the specific dragon's ability.
Tips
- Bring plenty of food; taming can take many attempts.
- Dragons can be bred once tamed by feeding two of them.
- Keep your dragon in a fenced area when not riding, as untamed dragons may wander.
- The
Animal Dictionary (crafted early) gives per-mob taming hints.
