Overview

AgriCraft is an agricultural expansion mod that completely overhauls how crops are grown and improved in Minecraft. Inspired by the classic crop systems of IndustrialCraft 2, AgriCraft focuses on the genetic improvement of plants through breeding and mutation. Instead of simply planting seeds in the ground, players use Crop Sticks to manage their plants, allowing for the cultivation of superior crops with enhanced stats such as growth speed and yield.

Supported Versions

AgriCraft has releases for Minecraft versions 1.7.10 and onwards. Status per version:

  • 1.18: Stable and supported.
  • 1.7.10 to 1.16: Legacy versions (Closed).

Frequently asked questions

What does the AgriCraft Mod do?
AgriCraft is a farming mod that adds crop breeding and genetics, letting you cross-breed plants to discover new crop varieties and improve their stats. It works with vanilla plants and also supports crops added by many other mods.
How do you mutate crops in AgriCraft?
Put crops on farmland, then apply crops to existing crops to make a crosscrop. If at least 2 fully grown crops are next to the crosscrop, a mutation can sprout, which is either one of the surrounding crops or a brand new one.
What are the stats in AgriCraft?
AgriCraft has 6 stats by default: Growth (growth rate), Gain (number of fruits), Strength (where the plant can grow), Resistance (resistance to weeds), Fertility (likelihood of cross-breeding), and Mutativity (likelihood of a positive mutation).
How does AgriCraft genetics work?
AgriCraft follows mendelian genetics: each gene is a pair of alleles, and usually one allele is dominant over the other. When cross-breeding two plants, the child inherits one of the two alleles from each parent.
