Setting Up an AgriCraft Farm That Runs Itself

Laying Out the Plot

A practical AgriCraft farm uses rows of Farmland with a water channel down the middle, topped with Crop Sticks. Keep the plot compact so you can reach every Crop Stick. Leave a walkway between rows so you can harvest and replant without trampling crops.

Automating Water

Farmland dries out and stops supporting growth. Run water alongside every farmland block, or use a water source block every four blocks in a channel. Check the plot after rain and after long dry spells — dry farmland is the most common cause of a stalled farm.

Harvesting and Replanting

Right-click each mature Crop Stick to harvest. Collect the produce and the seeds that drop. Sort the seeds by their stats and replant only the best ones on the Crop Sticks. Discard or store the rest.

Keeping Weeds Out

Inspect the plot regularly for weeds. Any Crop Stick showing weed growth should be broken and replaced. Higher-Strength seeds resist weeds better, so a plot planted with strong seeds needs less maintenance. Once your seeds have good stats across all three values, the farm becomes largely self-sustaining with only periodic harvesting.
